Close to the northern boundary of the village, lies the Playing Field and Village Hall.
In addition to the Hall, a Sports Pavillion is located on the Playing field.
The hall and field facilities are regularly used by the Cricket and Football clubs, Youth organisations, Dog training club, Dance classes, the Parish Council and a variety of other local organisations.
The facilities are managed by a group of village volunteers, under the registetered charity 'Finmere Village Hall & Playing Fields (CIO)'.
All hall management meetings are open to villagers, are normally held on a monthly basis and additional volunteers are always welcome to join the team.
Since 2013, the village hall has been the recipient of a number of grants, derived from local Land Fill taxes, courtesy of OPES Industries Ltd. and facilitated by
Grantscape. As a consequence, the hall has been subjected to a renovaton program, including refurbishment and enlargement of the car park.
In 2016, a group of village Mums formed a fund raising committee (Operation Playground) with the aim of raising funds for the renovation of the children's play area and in 2017 a new play area, close to the village hall, was commissioned....."Huge car park and a beautiful looking play park glistening in the distance like a beacon of light." (www.thefamilyticket.com)In 2020, a further grant was obtained through the HS2 project. The roof was subsequently replaced, storage areas were enlarged and a garage added to the building. A patio area was added, looking out onto the children's play area and many internal features were updated.
