31 March, 1798

On Saturday, a dispensation passed the Great Seal for the Rev. Robert Holt, A.M. of Brasenose College, Chaplain to the Most Noble the Marquis of Buckingham, and the Rector of Foscott and Wichendon, Bucks, to hold the Rectory in Finmere in this County.

23 January 1802

On Tuesday last died the Rev Mr Holt, Rector of Finmere, in the County.

On Thursday next the 4th Day of March, 1802, and the following Day, on the Premifses, at the Rectory Houfe in Finmore, near the Borough of Buckingham. The neat and modern HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE, PLATE, LINEN, etc. of the late Rev ROBERT HOLT, deceased; comprising Four Post, Tent, and other Bedheads, with fine Chintz and Dimity Furniture, Goose and other Feather Beds, Matreffes, Counterpanes, Quilts and Blankets, Mahogany Night Tables, Bafon stands, Chairs, Tables, Drawers, &c, two Mahogany Wardrobes, Bureau and Book-café, a set of Mahogany Dining Tables, with Circular Ends, Pier and Swing Glaffes, Carpets, &c. fundry Volumes of Books, capital prints, Bed and Table Linen, Clock and Café, stout Kitchen Grate, Smoke Jack, and kitchen furniture in general; 100 gallon Brewing Copper, a fmaller ditto, Mafh Vat, Brewing Tubs, Beer Casks and various other effects, as will appear in the catalogues, which may be had three days previous to the sale at the Red Lion Inn, Banbury, Crown, Brackley, Kings Arms Bicester, White Hart, Buckingham, Bell Winslow, and of the Auctioneer Stony Stratford.

N.B. The Goods may be viewed the Day before the Sale, and on each morning of Sale till Ten o’Clock, when the sale will commence.
